The Human Health Research Services Platform (HHRS Platform) has supported dozens of researchers and investigators to achieve research success since we launched in mid 2021. The HHRS Platform is hosted by the Liggins Institute – a research-focused institute with a worldwide reputation – at Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland. We are dedicated to supporting everyone engaged in human health research, with a strong emphasis on end-to-end data management, clinic space hire and statistical support. Work with us and you’ll be in safe hands.
Our new team members
NIHI transition
On 30 June 2025, many projects and staff from the National Institute for Health Innovation (NIHI) were transferred to the Human Health Research Services (HHRS) Platform. If your projects were managed by NIHI, they will most likely now be managed by the HHRS Platform. If you have any questions about the transition or your project, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Whether you’re an emerging researcher or a more experienced primary investigator, we’ve got the people to help you get your research project started, manage the data for your trial and analyse it once it’s complete.
Use our ready-to-go service and you won’t need to employ your own additional staff. We have statisticians, study coordinators, follow-up assessors, database designers and even nursing staff and phlebotomists.

World-leading research
The Human Health Research Services Platform (HHRS Platform) is hosted by the Liggins Institute at Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland.
Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland is New Zealand’s pre-eminent higher education institution and a comprehensive, research-intensive university. The University has performed well in university world rankings in recent years – we placed 65th in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, and 150th equal in the 2024 Times Higher Education World Rankings. Established in 2001, the Liggins Institute is one of the world’s leading research centres dedicated to improving lifelong health through excellent research into the determinants of a healthy life: before conception and at every stage of the lifespan. This includes research on fetal and child health, nutrition, development, epigenetics and translational and implementation science.
